Default Hurricane Frances

Might as well start a new post. Why not, its a happening thing. Writing this as I watch the news and I think I just saw Hooligans Crusier!.. Live from Merritt Island. Get inland Hooligan, NOW. Be safe. Speaking of staying safe, Crewzin, the news is now showing this beast crossing the state on over to north of Tampa. Be safe. I know I am leaving tons of Cruisers out but I can't remember everyone at this time. Apologies to those not mention. One person that comes to mine is our long lost friend IRPT. Isn't he up Georgia way?
I know that for a few of you, you might be "saying so what!". Well, we can all understand that. We have chosen to live in "Paradise" just as the ones who have chosen to live in earthquake country, tornando alley and along the Mississippi which floods every now and then those who have chosen to live where "known" problems are to exist and I have no clue what they are(you have to some kind of humor). The earth gives us a very large playing field which one can say "it happen over there but won't happen to me". Well, it may never happen to you but once, even once, when you have a close call you kinda think things differently.
I was part of Charley and now I'll be part of Frances, just not as much but things are different already. Gas lines, home depot, food stores, etc., big time lines and I'm really not in the middle of things. Totally weird. Its tough to prepare when your being told, " well, maybe here or maybe there". As I mention in another post about "am I going on vacation or not", well, no. I just gave up my room to people that really need somewhere to run to. I'll batten down the hatches here and let these poor folks leave their homes to where they believe they will be out of harms way. God, I'm rambling. Just had thoughts that I wanted to tell everyone about. All in all, everyone, be safe and let us all know how things turned out. Here's one for you[^]

What...did someone say another Hurricane!

Went to the supermarket this morning to pick up last minute stuff for the wind monster. Had to drive around the parking lot a couple of time before I could find a place to park. Inside was a mad house. Yea, it's supposed to be headed my way but downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reaches the west coast. House is built to the newest standards and we are high and 22 miles from the gulf so no worry about flooding or sea serge. Worst part would be the power outage from downed trees. Will just wait and see.

Yeah, Crewzin, things are getting crazy!

NOW, and I must say I feel not only a little silly but actually big time silly for not mentioning this earlier. If anyone out there is headed my way, Fort Myers, Naples, Cape Coral, Bonita and whatever, please give me a call if you can't find a place to stay. I don't care how many show up, the main perpose is to have a place to stay! My cell is 239-851-8827. My only requirement is that you must bring Becks! Only kidding there. Required is: get here safely. My cell is now in my hands and if anyone feels the need I'll do my best to steer you in to my house. Again, stay safe!

P.S. Feel free to call at anytime of day or night. I am a light sleeper and basically only sleep 2 - 3 hours a night. The rest of the night I "cat nap"! Please don't tell the dogs.

[:0] OK, this don't look good. See map below and follow the projected path (red line). On the Gulf coast you'll see a little town called Inverness right on that red line. I live about 5 miles west of that town. Maybe I ought to go get some more bottled water.

This ones looking bad. Tons more water with this one also. Weather Channel is on in about 5 minutes I see whats cooking then.

Well, they still have that path Crewzin mention. Speaking of water, how about upto 24 inches of rain!! One of the bad this about this for now is that it slowed down. This gives it time to build up again, its now 120 mph cat3 down from 140 mph cat4. Cat3 vs. Cat4? Basically the same, dangerous! But it has all day and tonight to get even bigger. Actually some of the extreme outer bands of rain are happening now on the east coast and I can see that they will be in my neck of the woods in a few hours. I am pretty southwest of this so I might not get much other then some rain. At this point I won't be boarding up just yet. Be safe everyone.

Well here we go again. Time to put everything away again. That red line goes right over my house in Winter Haven. So i shoule be feeling the hurricane winds just when it hits land on the east cost.

Sounds like Northeast when a snowstorm is coming - shelves are stripped of milk, eggs, and bread. [:0]
Maybe they'll be wrong about storm track again and it'll go over ocean...
"batten down the hatches". Good luck.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all in Florida. We here at moparsupercenter are located in North Charleston S.C. and we know the feeling of being under the gun so speak. Everyone be safe.

All of you down in Florida be safe and take care. Hope the path of the storm changes direction and does not hit near where you live.
