Crewzin this is probably a stupid idea, but have you ever thought of
running a couple of cables over the roof of the new part of your house and anchoring them in the ground.Just a thought. Good luck and stay safe.

Like your idea, however if the roof comes up most people roofs will rip through the cables because of the cable being so thin and the roof being pushed so hard up. Wood is weak, alot of wood is strong. Im sure there could be a way for it to work with an aluminum sheet type of contruction. Pt Tom, You are correct about us living. There really is not a safe place here. Charley was 15 miles from my house at cat 4 strength thats were we got the recorded 90 mile an hour constant winds with 120-125+ winds. This new storm will produce alot more then that for sure if it holds its strenght. I hope it will hit the mountains and tear it apart into nothing.
