Default Calling all you computer guru's

Being retired I visit 10 different forums each day (car related) and the only problem I have is with this site. Almost everytime I come I have to log in again even though I check the "remember me" box. Then even when I'm logged on, I go thru a few threads and find myself logged out again. Is there something I should be looking at to keep myself logged on? If my computer setting were not right, the other forums would act the same way..and they don't. I stay logged on for months.

Crewzin, no computer guru here but at times I have had the same problems. I never check out here or any of the other forums, but on occasion I am checked out. On this forum about once a week, on the UK forum alittle longer, on PTE somewhere inbetween. Not as bad as you though.

If you removed your cookies, you would have to re-login to all sites. This happens to me every so often at work because they update the security or some crap and I lose all my cookies.

I have had this issues with other forums of this type (www.sqlteam.com used to do this to me every now and then too).

I think it's a bug having to do with the forum software, and not so much your computer, CREWZIN.

Good luck!

I defrag and optimize at regular intervals and never get rid of my cookies unless I've had something terrible to eat! Guess I'll just have to live with it.

Crewzin;

It may be that the cookie itself is unreadable by the site. Search your harddrive for files containing "ptcrusierlinks". There should be one or more named "you name"@forum[1].txt. (replace your name with you real name) Delete just these, then log back on to the site to get a new cookie file.

OK Tom...did as you said...we'll see what happens..thanks.

Sorry...didn't work. Went to the Turbo threads and saw one that was new, clicked on it and when it came up to read it, the top of the page boxes were empty and I wasn't signed in again. [:I]
