Default Subaru owner blows his turbo

This is a crazy post in an Subaru WRX forum. The kid blew his turbo engine on 18psi, then gets it covered under warranty after he returns the engine to stock, then another forum member reports him to Subaru. It gets bad on page 3...

I saw a similar situation on a Mustang forum. A mechanic who worked on cars at a Ford dealership got his hands on a customers Cobra and trashed it (run the heck out of it) while it was under his "care". He posted all about it on a Mustang forum and gave enough details about the Cobra that a friend of the owner recognized the car and showed the posts to him. Most of the forum members gave the mechanic a piece of their mind. Long stoy short, the "kid" at the dealership was fired.

It looks like he got what he deserved. People think they can push their engines with too much boost, NOS, etc. and expect the factory to cover their mistakes. The first thing ANY service manager does when they suspect the engine has been fried because it's been played with is call a factory rep in to ok the repair. They would be stupid to do otherwise. The factory can reject any claim they suspect is bogus and trust me the dealer doesn't want to eat a big claim.

...three things. One-more is not always better, two-if you don't know what your doing leave it alone or learn, three-I would surely hope that the group of people on this forum never allow it to get in that condition! This forum is one of the best on the net...not everyone here claims to be a 'know it all' and I really do think that our posts are honest and usually are from experiences or research and the people who just post their opinions do it in a nice manner....why would anyone post intentions of that nature? I have hot-rodded for 30+ years and learn something every time I come to this forum...Thanks guys,

The dork got what he disserved. He should have ate the cost and been a big boy, instead he made a complete fool of himself.

Usually, any car in for service or warranty work, the vin number of the car and comments/reports/etc are typically inputted into the system. So even if the 2nd dealer said they would do the work under warranty, Subaru wouldn't authorize any warranty repairs because of the report on file from the 1st dealer (even though no work or service was performed) and the 2nd dealer should be able to see the same report on his screen when they enter the vin number. Funny part of that topic was the guy reinstalled all the stock parts after the 1st dealer denied his warranty claim to try to fool the 2nd dealer. A stock WRX should run the 1/4 mile in the 13-low 14 sec range (1/4 mile times from sport compact car web). Not too many cars off the showroom floor can match those figures.

bahhahahahaaa, bad form for that guy. he f**ked up by telling every one he was going to try to defraud Subaru, stupid criminals get what they deserve. I would have felt sorry for the guy, you live and learn, and you pay for your mistakes...he didn't learn a thing just showed he had some severe character flaws. When he called honda owners dumbasses or what ever demeaning term he used, I nearly pooped my pants with laughter. I've blown several engines modding a car too far out or tinkering too much with stuff I had no clue about (race cars are not taken down and redone after every race just to kill some time)I took the blame and paid the price for being stupid or overly adventurous.

I saw that thread! The guy was brazen enough to post the owner's license plate number! Talk about small brains.
