Well, Frances found it's way to my area Friday night/Saturday. Went to bed with weather report saying up to 2 inches of rain - right. was awakened by thunderstorms pounding the house. Have nearly 8 acres with a small stream in the back - it looked like the Mississippi - I'd say 5 acres were under water. Cable was out, but on the radio heard that 1,000 of the 15,000 residents of nearby town were evacuated. There are 2 bridges over the Delaware river - one was under water, the other the water was feet away... Heard on the radio that a cement truck was washed away, and a house was seen floating down the Delaware.
You got the stronger winds in Florida, but we have hills, and when the downpours come, you get floods. Several interviews with people driven out of their homes mentioned how the weather reports had only said "up to 2 inches of rain" - we go more than that per hour and it lasted hours...[B)] |

Son has no school because folks evacuated were put up in schools, and some raods were washed out. Yesterday and today were/are beautiful - not a cloud in the sky..
