Hooligan & spouse are in Pasco County having evacuated Merritt Island Friday. At this time we ARE the target[xx(]. Jeanne is now a Catagory 1 and headed somewhat West North West.

From some reports from MI we understand some of the island is without power as well as Orlando. We have friends staying at a motel in Orlando. Power in the Cocoa area went off about 7 AM. We are still hunkering down, eye should pass us somewhere around 2 PM. Power is flickering as I type this.

Citrus county here. Since the heading of Jeanne has changed, it's now heading west into Tampa instead of turning towards me, we are seeing only winds around 40-50 with a lot of rain. We are one of the highest parts of Florida, so flooding in our immediate area is not a threat. We're waiting to see if we loose power...so far so good.

CREWZIN, keep your head down and good luck, getting 58 MPH breeze here at Bayonet Point. Power is flickering.

Power starting to flicker here too now. Winds have picked up but I see no damgae yet thru the windows. All the major channels are on the hurricane but it's depressing enough hearing it outside so just flicking thru the channels waiting for the NASCAR race up in NJ at 1pm. Check all the forums too...just trying to keep busy. Hope the power stays on. Good luck to ya.

It is 2 PM the winds have changed to the west, so the center has passed Bayonet Point and is heading your way, stay safe. We still have power, so far. Jeanne has been downgraded to Tropical Storm status[^].

2:10 Tropical Storm or not, winds are pretty severe and rain is non-stop. About half a dozen power dips, but not quite a loss so clocks and computer didn't have to be reset....so far.

Just got info the Merritt Island causways are open to evacuees, we sustained no visable damage to our home, but we have no power yet. We are on the grid to the Space Center so are hopeing that it will be restored soon. Power is still on here with the same kind of dips you have.

6:30pm Well, it's all but over here. Center of the storm passed about 20 miles south of my house and what's left of the eye has reached the western shore now. We had winds sustained around 60mph and gusts much more than that but only lost a few flowers in the front. Tons of debris to pick up when it's completely over. Still raining and light winds around now. Never lost power.

Hooligan, you and I have been the only ones around. Sure hope everyone else down here made it through OK.
