Interesting comments everyone.

Still waiting to hear.

WHAT THE HELL HAVE THESE RIGHTIES ACCOMPLISHED IN THE LAST 5 YEARS?
I can give you a few things that the "righties" have accomplished in the last five years.
-They created and set into effect the Department of Homeland Security, which has made our airports safer by 10-fold, and helped, not solved, but helped some of our border and port issues.
-They sent troops into a country and broke down an infrastructure which had gassed 10's of thousands and killed/tortured thousands of families, and we are currently attempting to rebuild that country. Maybe you've heard of the country, it's a little place called Iraq. -The "righties" were also able to aid and evac hundreds of thousands of people within a week from an almost apocalyptal natural disaster. The Berlin Airlift took weeks to complete and it involved 3 countries' support. Not bad for the ole' righties.
I'm sure that isn't enough for you, and I bet you've got a few quips to throw back at me, so fire away.

I hardly ever come to this forum and just noticed this thread was still going on. Crazy Joe, I stand corrected in not paragraphing my comments, one typo I found and the misspelling of "success". I get sloppy on here sometimes, too, but at least I know better and I edit my stuff much more thoroughly before I submit it for publication. I write articles for a national trade publication and have written my first book. However you are wrong that you cannot begin a sentence correctly with "and". AND, your political conclusions suck! But, you have a right to them just like we all do![8D] By the way, you misspelled "separate"!

I am very impressed that anybody sixteen years old is able to have a car as nice as a cruiser and is as intelligent and interested in important issues as you are, Goldpt! Good for you. When I was sixteen I was running around San Antonio, Texas with my girlfriends in my old '47 Ford my Daddy bought me looking for boys at the local swimming pools and fast food hangouts and I don't remember having very many serious thoughts. I was sixteen in 1959, so I am both "hilarious" and an opinionated old fart. Hey, I am reading a book you might enjoy, Gold PT and everybody else- The 100 People Screwing Up America by Bernard Goldberg. It is good, true, and funny.

I am glad I voted for Bush and think he is doing a great job under extremely trying circumstances, and have never seen so much pure, vitriolic hate directed at a person in my life. Of course the guy is a human being and will make mistakes or some of his appointees will, but I defy you to find any organization as complex as the federal government where that isn't true. There are also things he can't personally control. However, I think we are lucky to have him, and I just hope Condoleeza Rice runs and wins after him. I think she would be one of our most brilliant and best Presidents ever. By the way, I do NOT consider myself a Republican, but more Libertarian than anything else.

Well, I can see why you win debates. You can hold your own with your peers and people much older than you are. Two of my kids participated in Debate in high school and it is a very useful extracurricular activity. Maybe some day you will go into politics and we can all vote for you- by then maybe your debate skills will have "converted" all your fellow cruisers on here. We can all say we knew you when you were just a cruising kid![8D]

Been out of town all weekend. First time I've had to catch up.

First of all. There was never an inherited Clinton recession. That is a myth constantly perpetuated by Hannity and O'Reilly neo-cons with an agenda. The recession began several months into his presidency.

2nd of all. The invasion of Iraq was never presented to the US public or the UN as a moral war to stop the starvation and killing Hussein was responsible for. It was to find WMDs. Funny how easily you righties forget that.

The big problem here is, you keep calling it a war on terror. The Iraqi people were not terrorists! Al Quida was/is. The Iraqis did nothing to us. The Saudis, yes. BTW, where is Bin Laden? Remember this classic Bush quote about Bin Laden, "I just don't think about it much anymore."

How can that not disturb you neo-conartists?

Bin Laden's boys attacked us, not Hussein's.

Fact-Most the hijackers were Saudis. BUT, the Bush crime family has been in bed with the Saudi Royals for years. They aren't going to pick a fight with them. But, who wants to crap where they eat (reference to the fact we get our oil there, get it)?

So, the invasion of Iraq was to stop the horrors going on over there? Why did Governor Bush (the last election he rightfully won was in Texas, therefore I will refer to him by his correct title) pick Iraq to invade? If it's to save people from their tyranical ruler, he could have gone to a dozen other countries.

As soon as 9/11 happened he wanted Iraq to be blamed no matter how illogical it was. He's gotta finish his daddy's war.

The fact is you Neo-Con corporate loving righties will never come to terms with what the Republicans currently in office stand for-FASCISM.

With this administration big business and gov't walk hand in hand (basic definition of fascism).

Everything is going UP, except wages. Have you noticed gas prices?
I've mentioned this before, but if you missed it....
Exxon-Mobil just posted the biggest quarter profits for any business in the history of America. After their expenses and taxes they make about $110 million a day. A big reason for that is all the tax breaks the Bush Crime family has given them. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

I have been nice enough to post a more realistic list of what Bush and the righties have done in the last 5 years with total control of the federal government. Don't forget, any problems they have had they weasel out of and find a way to blame democrats or Clinton. Way to usher in the "new era of responsibility."

* Attacked and took over two countries.
* Spent the surplus and bankrupted the treasury.
* Shattered record for biggest annual deficit in history.
* Set economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12 month period.
* Set all-time record for biggest drop in the history of the stock market.
* First president in US history to enter office with a criminal record.
* First year in office set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in US history.
* After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, presided over the worst security failure in US history.
*Completely ignored warning of Al Quida attack.
* Set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips than any other president in US history.
* In first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their job.
*Cut unemployment benefits for more out of work Americans than any president in US history.
* Set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12 month period.
* Appointed more convicted criminals to administration positions than any president in US history.
* Set the record for the least amount of press conferences than any president since the advent of television.
* Signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any president in US history.
* Presided over the biggest energy crises in US history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed.
* Presided over the highest gasoline prices in US history and refused to use the national reserves as past presidents have.
* Cut healt

Arty that is a great list of talking points and might I add a great looking tin foil hat. One helpful hint, don't drink the Kool Aid in your PT. If you spill it, it will stain.
As I reminded your Bush hating friend QSD. Bush could come out today and announce that he personally found a cure for cancer and you guys would complain about the out of work lab rats.
You hate Bush with such fervor that it consumes your ability to think reasonably. No amount of facts or truth is going to alter your opinion. Your posts are of the typical liberal nature. Attack with outrageous claims over and over and hope that some naive fool listens.

Satellite66, so true. The thing that always amazes me about so-called "liberals" is how bigoted and one-sided and intolerant they are of anyone else's views. Exaggeration, outrageous and uncivil insults and outright lies are all "good" just as long as they are aimed with name-calling vitriol at the President and anyone supporting him. It really is a travesty and perversion of the word "liberal". Years ago, I read 1984 and these slams remind me of the "groupthink" imposed on people in that book, and saying the reverse of what is true and demanding it be accepted as true. The funny thing is, there have even been a couple of people on these forums that have attacked me personally because I DARE to think for myself and state plainly I am a conservative and like the President. I at one point even received hateful anonymous e-mails that I think were partly related to that, if you can believe, on a CAR FORUM. [:I] But those of us who believe in freedom should have the courage to speak up for it, understanding that our opinions may vary and our diversity of expression makes our country stronger, not weaker. However, when somebody else thinks differently, the name-calling and hate speech I can do without, especially when directed at me. Talk about issues. The attack-dog politics is not working more and more for the Democrats and I didn't see a sterling performance of leadership in New Orleans from the Democratic politicians down there. If they are an example of the alternative to Bush, I will take Bush's leadership any old day. And by the way, where is John and Theresa Kerry and all their multimillions in there helping? Conspicuously absent. They are always so interested in US spending our money to help people but do you ever see them, or Ted Kennedy, sacrificing even one iota of their considerable comforts to help? Notice Bill Frist, REPUBLICAN congerssional leader, was down there on the front lines as a DOCTOR, not a politician, helping. And here in the Houston area, it was the Republican county judge who pulled that shelter together in EIGHT HOURS and mobilized the entire business community to help. ( All the "greedy corporate bastards" and "evil intolerant Christians" were the ones down there putting their money and time where their mouth is to help those people.)

Typical Neo-con reply, can't think for themselves, just start calling the other guys names. That's what you have to do when you have blown it for 5 years. I expect nothing less from the right.

Better consult FOX news on how to handle the truth.

When the headlines should read "The president is completely incompetent." They spin it to blame everything on those who aren't in power, those terrible liberals with their "no war" attitude. How unpatriotic.

And just what are these outrageous claims us liberals have made?

Being honest. Ask yourself.

Are you better off under this president that Clinton?
Do you feel the country is heading in the right direction?
Are you proud of what this admin. has done?
Do you care our troops are fighting dying for a false cause?
Is your Haliburton stock increase worth it?
Do you think it's a coincidence that oil prices have skyrocketed and oil boy is in the White House?
Did Karl Rove's "leak" bother you at all?

These people should all be in jail awaiting trial for the crimes they have committed!

Talk about drinking Kool Aid........
