Wow. I think they are stupid - big on the outside, nowhere near as big on the inside, and I knew of the tax loophole, but to give the "bird"? I'll pass.[:I]

I drove the original hummer out in the field, back when I was in the Marines. It was rather cool driving sideways at very steep angles. Felt I can almost touch the ground if I reached out the window. I test drove the H2 just a few months ago. Didn't care for it much. Yes, it was big, but it had small windows. Can't tell how close you are to the next vehicle, but of course, being so big, most vehicles would try to avoid you. With the except of other bigger vehicles, such as semis. Also, with the smaller windows, it was hard to park it. I would definetely have to park it away from other vehicles.

I never knew they had a tax loop hole though.

Egads! Another Jarhead! Semper Fi.
I drove an M151A1 - JEEP - in 'Nam. It was much smaller and lighter. Got one stuck once and with a few extra guys was able to get front wheels out of a trench - couldn't do THAT with a Hummer - you'd need another Hummer to tow it out.[:0]

The loop hole allows sub contractors and people who own there own businesses to right their vehicles off on their taxes. Why do you think you see so many people driving f-250,f-350, duallies and lifted up and 35" wheels, because their taxes are free on them, same with a Hummer.

I will agree with the posuer car deal they talk about on that site. Anyone who owns a car they could buy another house for, is a pouser. They drive it just to show off how much money they spend.

Half the people that drive these cars around my area, look as if they just crawled out of the gutter. I wear nicer clothes then them when I go to sleep, and Im not rich at all, far from it in fact.

But I always thought a Hummer was suppose to be something that you were suppose to keep secret.

The really funny thing about the H2 and other supersized SUVs is that their GVWR is usually over 6500lbs, and many neighborhoods in LA and Orange Counties have restrictions on vehicles that exceed this spec. So, in the strictest sense, many of the people who own these things can't legally drive them on their own streets!! I've never known the law to be enforced with regard to SUVs though.
