Default Got a free Camper Van

Free is for me, previous owner thought that it needed a complete cooling system rebuild, yes it is liquid cooled engine in back radiator up front takes about 14qts coolant. Well i did some small repair work here and there and i'm ready to put it on the road. Turned out that it only needed about 5 qts of coolant and a new stat. Its got so many neat features i dont know where to begin. Anyone have/had one of these?

You got it free? Wow. Those have good resale value. I don't have the patience to drive one - ever been behind one? Put a Porsche engine in it!

Geez, what a deal!! Those things are great if you're into outdoor action sports like cycling, windsurfing, kayaking, etc. Great for weekend trips too.....very cool, and congrats on a killer deal!

the motor swaps that people do in these things are crazy. everything from a subaru wrx to an audi v6. i'm planning to leave it stock, dont think that it would be very wise to make it faster with the handling as awkward as it is. 2 double beds one "downstairs" and one up top. when it is open the thing is huge inside. LPG stove and a fridge that will run on 12v/LPG/120v

the best part is that it barely has 60K on it, the dual A/C works and it has a separate heat exchanger for the rear.

You may change your mind the first time you want to pass a truck on a 2 lane road...

Congratulations on your find. I am certain that you will enjoy it. Many years ago, we bought a Ford conversion van that we used to camp in. The third row seat was a power trifold that made a queen size bed. Had many great trips with it. It wasn't a sports car but its versatility was wonderful. Versatility is one of the PT's greatest benefits.

Don't let the negative comments get you down. Enjoy your new toy.
