Three strangers strike up a conversation in the airport passenger lounge in Bozeman, Montana, while awaiting their respective flights.

One is an American Indian passing through from Lame Deer.
Another is a Cowboy on his way to Billings for a livestock show
and the third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly
arrived at Montana State University from the Middle East.

Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon, the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull.

The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table and tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face. The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping; but still no plane comes.

Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he speaks, "At one time here, my people were many, but sadly, now we are few."

The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward, "Once my people were few," he sneers, "and now we are many. Why do you suppose that is?"

The cowboy shifts his toothpick to one side of his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a smooth drawl . . .

The Timothy McVeigh incident proves that you can't trust everyone.
The other incidents plus a few thousand more, PROVES that you can't trust A whole bunch of Muslim males between the ages of 17 and 40. They need to be checked with some kind care for the safety of everyone including other Muslims.
By your name calling, I can see why you're called "Crazy". Settle down and try to add something constructive to help deal with the world we have to live in.

C'mon Crazy Joe. Your point about McVeigh doesn't prove that watching people who appear to be middle-eastern males from 17-40 carfeully when they are boarding planes is a bad idea.

We have more than our share of crime in this country, but ya gotta agree that if you were flyin' home from Europe and sittin' next to some guy with sweaty palms names Muhammad, you'd be ready to pounce every time he reached down to tie his shoelaces.

CrazyJoe, I don't mean to critize, but you did not go thru September 11th. I am a New Yorker! I knew people who died in the Towers! I know people you had loved ones who died in the Towers! My cousins worked in 1 of the smaller buildings of the World Trade Center. Yeah, the 2 towers weren't the only buildings that were part of the world trade center. They had to run for their lives, and ended up walking miles home to Brooklyn because the city was on lock down and all the bridges were closed to vehicles. I have lived in my present address for 20 years, and have had the most wonderful view of the Manhattan Skyline. But, after Sept 11th, all I saw was smoke coming out where I once saw the towers. My daughter was tramitized since she was used to seeing them since she was born and she will be 12 soon. For weeks after that, I had the worst smell of debris, burning and decay coming thru my windows. I have lived thru this and experienced it up close. It was worst when they showed on the TV news a muslim community in NJ that was cheering and dancing in the streets when the towers came down and they were saying we got what we deserved. I felt like driving over there and shooting everyone of those a**holes. How can you celebrated the murder of 2,000 innocent people in one mighty swoop? If I got my hand on Osama Bin Laden, I'd rip him apart with my bare hands! What kind of a jackass kills innocent people in the name of god? So don't classify Timothy McVeigh with these terrorist cowards! McVeigh was an SOB with nothing better to do and probably nothing upstairs, not some devout radical Muslim who is dumb enough to believe that if he blows himself up and takes out other people in the process that he will goto heaven and have X amount of virgins waiting for him! Stupid brainwashed B**tards! I know what terrorists do. I had to live thru it! And this city's always on it's toes since then.

This e-mail was originally sent around protesting the screening policies at airports and customs checkpoints, saying that we should focus on the Arab muslims (like they wear ID tattoos or something) instead of screening "innocent Americans."

I got news for you, bub....innocent Americans are just as capable of being pissed off at our government as the next guy. Timothy McVeigh being just one of them.

And SuGamer, a special "up yours" to you if you think being in New York somehow makes you morally superior to me in the 9/11 thing. Bite me. The WTC traegdy was awful, and it affected me profoundly. But getting all irrational about it is just foolish.

Look, there are Muslim groups who detest everything that these terrorists stand for. They don't get a lot of media play, but they are just as free from wrongdoing as anyone else.

I work in the IT industry, so I see a lot of Indian guys. Wanna make bets on how often they get stopped because they look like one of them "A-rabs"? These guys have done nothing terrorist-like in their lives, and never will.

I also work with an Iranian woman. Her and her husband are great people. They travel to Iran once a year to visit family. They're no more terrorist than you or me, and maybe even less so, since they value the benefits of American society more than someone with several generations here.

So again, I say bite me. Spread this bigoted crap elsewhere. It's no better than the "turn the middle east into a glass parking lot" mentality. It's intellectually weak, and it does no favors to the analytical skills of our next generation....and we're going to depend on those skills someday.

FU Joe! I'm not a racist. As a matter of fact, I have alot of arab clients. I would say about 40% of my clients are arabs, and I don't have a problem with the majority of them. The only problems I may have are on a personal basis, nothing to do with race or nationality. I say to keep an eye on arabs, especially ones just coming into the country because the terrorists that attacked us are ... um, I don't know ... arab? If it were another race or nationality of people that attacked us, I would say the same about them. And it does not come down to racism. I think everyone should be screen regardless of who they are. I was not critizing you, but with that "up yours" statement, you just showed me how much of a b*****d you are. You watched from afar in MI, and cried because america was attacked.
