Default New Mustang V6.

My brother is trying to get one of the new mustang V6. I told him the GT is where its at and the V6 is the chicks car but he cant afford, well, neither but the V6 will put him less in debt.....(dont ask, his brain doesnt understand money.)

Anyway, the V6 has 210hp/240ft/lbs if I remember right.

Can the Cruiser GT beat it? I cant stand the thought of having a slow car than him.......might have to get the stage 1 if he gets the stang.[8)]

Yup! The 'stang is heavy like the PT. Some of the turbo lites with S1 are giving the V8's a tough time. [8)]

Mr. Barton,

The mustang coupe V6 weighs 3352LBs and it produces 210HP this gives them a Weight to HP ratio of 15.96 Pounds per HP

The 2003 PT GT weighs 3190 and came with 215HP giving us a number of 14.83 Pounds per HP

assuming both cars are automatic. the GT should kick the mustangs butt by far. If you have stage 1 the numbers are even more in your favor 13.57 weight to HP ratio. this over two pounds per HP over the 'stang.

the 'stang GT has a weight to HP ratio of 11.62... it should kick our @sses if driven correctly.

Ian

don't forget about torque, thats where its at off the line, horsepower is more influential when the cars are moving and have similar specs. Seeing as to how the cars weigh relitively the same, and the torque is similar in both, the GT should beat it pretty well, not because of horsepower, but because the availability of torque. The GT's torque is 80% available at 2500rpm. [8)] But oh yeah, Stage 1 will hand it to him on a silver platter.[?]

Yep, the new GT Mustang is quick and fast. MotorTrend clocked 0-60 in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph. 300 hp, 320 lb-ft torque.

The V-6 is 210 hp, 240 lb-ft torque with a top speed of 112. Ford claims a 0-60 of 6.9 seconds for the V-6. The PT GT should take the V-6 but get eaten badly by the pony GT.
