Default Muscle car special

They had a special on cabel last night about the muscle car eras. Great stuff. I can't believe the cost of these cars when they came out. A pontiac JUDGE FOR $3,000???? My favorite car (though I had a 69 Chevelle when I got my drivers license) is the 440 six pack road runner. 69 or 70. Those cars new cost $2,700. The car is solid and FAST. I guess I can only dream of having one some day, not many left around in decent shape, Gary

The first new car I ever bought was a 65 Mustang. It cost roughly $2400. I traded it the next year for a 66 Mustang Convertible. It was right around $3200. In '71 I bought a new 383 'Cuda, special ordered for $4400. Times have changed, not necessarily for the better.

But you have to compare it to what people were getting paid at the time too. Yes, it was only a few thousand dollars for a car, but minimum wage was $1.15 per hour which works out to about $2,400 per year! [B)]
