Well, Florida has gotten, along with other Gulf Coast States, its first taste of bad weather. Mind you, this is going in the record books, the first storm of the season was August 1st!!!
Anyway. We all got to eat, so I consider myself a Post Office worker. Rain, hail, floods and whaterver the heck else they say, ain't going to stop me from bbq'n. First shot is of the goods (lemon used for size reference only) ![]() This shot is of where I have to go to cook these bad babies. ![]() And the final shot is looking from the dock onto my backyard. ![]() A little foot note here. My dock is two levels. The lower level at the usuall high tide is about 18" above the water line. The higher level of dock is about 2' higher then that. Walking to the higher level, the water was about 3" above my knee (I'm 6'1").At the usual high tide, it is about 5' below my back yard grass. As you can see here, the water is upto my backyard!. Reason? Tropical storm Arlene. Hit here with tons of rain, which me being on a canal, any water inland has to go some where and it comes here on its way to the Gulf of Mexico. But, it doesn't stop me from bbq'n, which I do at least 5 days out of the week. I must say though, I do carry a pitch fork with me just incase an alligator decides to visit! |

BDD,
You named a couple of the reasons why I deceided to stay a bit above the water line (18 miles from the Gulf beach) and every mile of it goes higher up than the last one.
