2nd Annual Riverfront Ramble, Delaware County, PA

Plans are coming together nicely for the 2nd Annual Riverfront Ramble on Saturday September 24. 2005 (rain date is September 25). Hopefully the weather will not be a factor this year. Last year, hurricane Ivan required us to go to plans “B”, “C” & “D”!
Highlights of this years Riverfront Ramble will of course be the PT Cruiser Show starting at 2 PM and concluding at 9 PM after the Fireworks at Governor Printz Park, W. 2nd Street and Taylor Ave. Essington, PA 19029
There will be a Luau at the Lagoon Nightclub next door to the park, from 6-8 PM
Hot Air Balloons rides, a visit from the Tall Ship Kalmar Nyckel and many more activities along the riverfront. For more info, see the Riverfront Ramble Event page on the Del Val PT Cruisers web site.

One big item is the $1000 drawing Commerce Bank will be having. You need to sign up for the drawing at their tents which are located at all 3 locations!

The Del Val PT Cruisers would like to thank all who came out to the 2nd Annual Riverfront Ramble. The overall event grew 3 fold from last year.
There were 21 PTs from PA, NJ, DE & MD, about the same number as last year but we sure did attract a lot of attention, especially the “Glow Show”!!
There was something for all ages to do. From the encampments, Tall Ship, Hot Air Balloon Ride (unfortunately, the winds limited them to 20 feet instead of 60 feet), kids arts & crafts and music programs and the “Flashback” concert.
The fireworks were spectacular, especially since you could see the other 2 simultaneous shows as they occurred down river. Not quite sure what the people flying into Philly International thought since they were right outside their windows!
This was a fun and relaxed event and the Brandywine Conference and Visitors Bureau staff on location did the judging.
“Judges Choice” winners were:
“Bonnie & Clyde”- Ken and Cherie Durbin and “Sassy” the FBI agent.
“Party Time”- Jim, Sally and Jen Yurick;
“Silver Eagle”- Jim and Donna Lowell and “Cruiser”. “Silver Eagle” is 2 for 2 at the Ramble.
“Best Neon Display” award went to “Party Time”, hands down.

I really wanted to join the festivities! Looks like a great event. My PT is no where near the quality of the vehicles in the photos, but it would have been nice to participate. Maybe next event. Enjoy the ride![^]
