Default Wild Thang III - Traffic Alert

Hi All,
Terry and I just got back from our vacation in Cape May and wanted to warn all of you coming down for Wild Thang III about road construction on RT-47 in Rio Grande, NJ. The construction is on the main drag into Wildwood in the area of RT-9 and the Garden State Parkway interchange. Traffic is down to one lane each way, no shoulder, flagmen stopping traffic and lots of stones and gravel on the roadway!
Some alternate routes in:
1) Coming south on the GS Parkway, take EXIT 6 and follow the signs to North Wildwood/RT-147. This will take you through Anglesea/North Wildwood, Wildwood City and into Wildwood Crest.
OR
(This is our preference)
2) Coming south on the GS Parkway, go to the end and keep to the left and turn left at the second traffic light onto Ocean Drive/RT-621. Don’t go over the tall bridge into Cape May. Ocean Drive will take you over a small toll bridge (no toll in this direction) and onto Pacific Ave. in the Crest, follow this and turn right into Forget-Me-Not Rd and the host hotel is 2 blocks down on the right.

3) Those traveling South on RT-55 and/or RT-47, turn left off of RT-47at the first traffic light AFTER the RT-83 turnoff. The signs will be for Stone Harbor/Cape May Court House -RT-657, cross over RT-9 and turn right onto the GS Parkway and follow the directions, #1 or #2 above.

4) Cape May Ferry travelers. Follow the signs to the GS Parkway but do not get on the Parkway but stay to the left and turn left at the light onto Ocean Drive/RT-621 and follow the directions in #2 above.

Hope to see you all at Wild Thang and have a safe trip.

John & Terry

rnbenoit,
Your welcome!
Did you take the Ferry over or come up to the Delaware Memorial Bridge?
I was told there were only a few barrels on Rt-47 East of the Garden State Parkway but I know West of the Parkway there was a lot of construction going on.
