Latest Update:
Tammy and I attended another meeting for the Riverfront Ramble and, well, they want to showcase the PT Cruisers by putting us in Governor Printz Park, along the river's edge. This way those cruising the river that day will also be able to enjoy our fine land cruisers. So, barring mother nature doesn't send any bad weather our way prior to the event, we will be in the park. Mac & Sam Chrysler have also sponsored 4 trophies for the event. ![]()

Del Val along with the Riverfront Ramble made the newspaper today! And let me tell you, we have already heard back from the readers, as the PT Owners of are coming out to see what we are all about Sept 18th.
Here is what the Daily Times of Delaware County had to say about us.... Riverfront Ramble will include Walk for Troops As county planners continue to organize the Riverfront Ramble, a day-long festival set for Sept. 18 at venues along the Delaware waterfront, they are seeking participants for a "Walk For Our Troops." The walk will start at 10 a.m. at The Wharf at Rivertown, 2501 Seaport Drive, Chester. There will be opening ceremonies followed by the walk. The event is free and all participants are asked to bring a donation to benefit the United Service Organization (USO). The USO, which provides a wide range of services to those serving overseas, will be collecting food items such as instant coffee, powdered Gatorade, Kool-Aid, tea bags, Slim Jims, and snack cakes. They also need personal items like shampoo, razors, shaving cream, T-shirts, underwear and socks, eye drops and lip balm.A huge "We Support You" banner, hung at the start of the event, will be taken down during the walk, and as people finish they will be invited to write a note on the banner which will be taken (along with cards from kids) to a nearby Air force base - to be flown to a base in Iraq. The Riverfront Ramble was planned to showcase Delaware Countys riverfront towns of Marcus Hook, Eddystone, Chester, Essington, Ridley and Tinicum. The day-long festival will feature food, crafts, music, concerts and a car show. John Pius and Tammy Korczynski of the Delaware Valley PT Cruisers Car Club recently met with members of the Riverfront Ramble Event Committee to select the ideal location for a PT Cruiser "Glow Show," one of many attractions planned for the Riverfront Ramble. "Governor Printz Park is beautiful, and is the ideal location for our car show since there will be several other activities including childrens music and crafts, a motorcycle show and next door, the Lagoon will be hosting a Hawaiian luau,"Pius said. Pius adds that the term "glow show" means that the cruisers will light up neon accessories at dusk, illuminating their cars with cool neon colors. All of the riverfront communities from Marcus Hook to Tinicum Township will be throwing down the welcome mat on Sept. 18, inviting residents to ramble down Delaware Countys 14-mile riverfront in a day-long summer festival, culminating with fireworks. For information about parking, concerts, shuttle bus schedules and other activities, visit www.riverfrontramble.com. Activities planned include crafts for kids at Governor Printz Park where children of all ages will make greeting cards that will be sent to troops in Iraq; the PT Cruiser Car Show and a Harley Owners Club Motorcycle Show; wildlife programs at John Heinz Wildlife Refuge; a food festival at Marcus Hooks Market Square Memorial Park plus a tugboat water show and three live concerts; and a grand finale at the Wharf at Riverton, including fireworks. The finale concert will start at 6 p.m. and will feature music by The Gospel Disciples, the Norris Tones (playing doo-wop), Heart and Soul playing rock and roll, and Medias own Leroy Hawkes and the Hipnotics.- The Riverfront Ramble is set for Sept. 18 at venues from Tinicum to Chester.Events will start at 10 a.m. with the Walk for Our Troops at the Wharf at Riverton, Chester, and end at 9 p.m. with fireworks shot from a barge on the Delaware River. For information call (610) 565-3679 or visit the Web site at www.riverfrontramble.com. ©The Daily Times 2004

WEATHER STATUS: As of today, the Riverfront Ramble will take place tomorrow, as scheduled. Several weather reports are suggesting only light rain in the morning, ending by mid day. Hopefully it will end even earlier! WEATHER UPDATE: However, should tonights weather reports predict worsening conditions, several people will meet at 8 AM Saturday morning to make a final determination.
