Sorry to have missed you at the PT Club meeting in Salem this past Friday...it was my first and let me say that Suzie is one cool gal to meet. I was hoping to meet you both as well, but I've heard that we'll be meeting up with the TVCC guys in Hillsboro for the fall foilage trip to the coast I understand it.

BTW, if you missed my post in the General PT forum, I just traded up my 2002 for a 2006 PT (TE) and I just love my lil' car LOL.

I've been keeping pretty much close to home since this summer because of my illness and eventual surgery. Full recovery will probably take the rest of the year so hopefully will be cruising next year.

Hope you feel better MG! I know how it is, with my TKR on my left knee (total knee replacement) as I'll be having the right one done next year. I'd give myself 2-3 years to fully feel 'normal'.

Feeling a lot better than I did before my surgery Aug 2nd. Shortness of breath, on and off ear ache and a dibilitating (sp) neck pain that all got continually worse and turned into a triple bypass surgery. Doing cardiac rehab every week to rebuild my stamina and the only pain I have now is my healing sternum and sometimes the scar on my chest hurts when I have to stretch it out to stand up straight. But, like my wife says, I'm still alive. I never thought I'd have this problem at 56 yrs old and the fact that I had quit smoking, but the doctors say you can get heart disease at any time including years after you quit smoking. I was lucky, a lot of people never realize they have heart disease until they have a heart attack. I was at the point of having one at any time, but luckily I didn't.
In no way shape or form am I diminishing your TKR. Must hurt like heck because you have to walk on your leg. OUCH! Hope it heals nicely.

Oh, yeah it DID hurt like nobody's business...LOLOL But I have a very good surgeon who's VERY aggressive with pain managment. What's interesting is that I was walking within two weeks and totally shocked my doctor. Puzzled by his shock, I was told that MOST of his patients are still using their walkers AFTER two weeks!

Since I had so much history with my left knee, I think the TKR for my right knee will be a breeze next year. And going over the itemized hospital bill, I know which charges to avoid for my near future right knee TKR.

Yeah, stretching's not fun, but it keeps the scar tissue(s) from building up and hardening.

Yep, just keep on stretchin' and cruisin' --that's the key to getting better! LOL

For my scar I'm using a vitamin E lotion that has other vitamins in it. Makes my scar soft and more pliable.

Hello Cruisinbabe ,, it appears that Suzie did not have the correct information about our Fall Colors Cruise this year, we have cancelled the one we had planned to Astoria and Longview (never did have one planned to Lincoln City this year and the casino's) but we are thinking about doing one to McMinnville and see the Sea Monsters at the IMAX theater. So that trip is cancelled...I was wondering why I didn't hear from her about any other trips.

Hunh~ never been to McMinnville/IMAX....it'd be a hoot to come up there! Do I have to join the TVCC to do this trip? And I'd LOVE to go to Lincoln City...not sure about the casino part LOL.
