Default Door Seals and Rain??

Anyone have problems with the door seals not taking the rain away like they should?? Both the driver and passenger door seals leak when the door is open, and it drips right inside onto the carpet, or my knee, whichever is in line first!!!!
Living in rain country, this is not good to have the carpet wet like that!!

Glenda

Hi Glenda

I know that your post is a year old but I just picked up a PT Convertible on Saturday and drove through a very heavy rain and I was happy that nothing leaked. This is my first convertible so I was wary of it.

Regards
Terry

Glenda,

Just checked my 01 cruiser and the rubber door seals on both sides and from front door to rear have a ridge/dip that leads the rain away from the open doors. Try comparing your cruiser to another one and see how your rubber seals are different, because they apparently aren't doing what they are intended to do.

I believe that Glenda is speaking of when she opens the door the water (rain) runs in thru the opening. I have noticed that happens with mine also. It is in the design of the roof line and not much can be done about that. I try to get in and out as quick as I can. Of course, if you have groceries or a baby to put in a car seat there is no "FIX".

You are correct, I reread her original post, I haven't noticed that yet.

Correct.
Cars used to have drip rails - the roofs had "gutters" - I haven't seen them on cars for years. Now the roof has indentations, ut when you open the door... you'll get wet.
