I ordered mine in March and just received my VIN number a few weeks back. The dealer told me that VIN numbers are only issued when the car has been built. If you call your dealer and ask him for a VON number (Vehical Order Number) you can call or email the Chysler help desk and they can track your car. Mine is sitting at the ship yard waiting to be shipped from Mexico.

Here is the the Chrysler Contact info. Call them, give them your VON and they will track it for you all the way through shipping:

1-800-992-1997 (follow the prompts, can be tricky)
M-F 8:00AM-5:00PM
All Time Zones

You can also email them for status at:
http://www.chrysler.com/webselfservi...m%28%27R%27%29

Select: Send us an Email

Good Luck!

Hey All! I just registered here! I'm from New Jersey...I'm an owner of a black 01 PT with a few mods.
I also just ordered a new GT Convertable, I am so excited!
Its Cool Vanilla...fully loaded....navigation....

Now for my question...
My dealer gave me a confirmation form with my VIN Number on it which says that it is scheduled to be built, but it does not provide a date.Does anybody know where I will be able to find out if it is built yet or not? or when it is scheduled to be built?

Also, I read in another topic that somebody says it takes 18 days to be shipped. My dealer says that the shipping takes 10 days to get here and I'm in New Jersey.

Unless that's a typo in your signature, I think you'll have a wait, because I don't think they are cranking out '05s yet, are they? Stay on top of dealer - speak to someone else - they oughta know/be able to find out - if they can be bothered...

Good to have another fan from JOISEY!

Getting pix to show the exact color on a computer monitor can be tricky, and for a variety of reasons. Have a look at my website (linked below) for pix of my 2004 Graphite Metallic PT. You'll notice the color looks a bit different in some of the pix, but I assure you the color never changes in real life! I like this color because it has a decent amount of metallic flecks in it and it works well with chrome or billet accents.

Why don't you just tumble the rear seats forward and provide a mat for the dog to lay on.[:I] That way you will protect the seating surface while giving the dog a larger area to spread out. If it's a smaller dog only flip half of the seat. There is a guy in our cruiser club that carries his faithful companion Buck like this all the time. The Cruiser is a very versitile hauling machine.[|)]

Hey Mace - it was my car that was missing the glove box strap - nothing else missing however.

The spare is the "pretend" tire - ie:donut sized spare...Hopefully it will never be used.[8D]

My biggest adjustment has been getting used to the larger doors... I am always reminding the kids to "be carefull" when they get in & out - and am always opening the doors with caution when I park in the garage at work.

Make sure you post and let us know how you like your new "baby"....

Welcome, Mjsusman-
I an afraid you have two conflicting parameters - good fitting and easy to put on/take off. Those that fit snugly require time to pull on/off. What's wrong with a blanket?

I wouldn't go nuts - you can go back under warranty with anything you discover later.
There's not enough room in the drop-down spare holder for a full-size tire..
