Doctors Foster & Smith makes a great seat cover out of Cordura.
I have in in my GT hardtop.

I don't know what size would fit the ragtop.

I had to add 4 "grommets" for the headrests.

Try calling 1-800-826-7206.

Good Luck & Enjoy the Ride!

You could get the Mopar back-up sensors.

That isn't just the convertible - the sedan PT is terrible, too. I've adjusted to using the side mirrors, but it's by far the worst car I've ever had for backing up. [B)]

Have to agree with QSD here. I totally depend on my side mirrors. Can't see nada out the back.

Removing the rear headrests helps. You have to fold over the rear seat, and push in on the two headrest buttons, to remove them.

BigDog, cant you teach your frieds in the back to bark when you get near something? I was backing up looking in the mirrors and "crash" I hit a post! Broke the right rear tail light and put a nice dent under it.[:0]

Welcome MACE!! Hope you will enjoy the heck out of your new GT convertible. The cowl shack is actually well controlled in the PT convertible compared to many convertibles. The roof is a great chassis strengthener. Cut it off and things start to move around some. You will get use to it though, at least I did on the two convertibles (not PT Cruisers) I have owned.

BOV will change the sound but really isn't that obtrusive. The higher you run up the engine, the louder the sound. After you start taking it to redline I think you will notice a change in volume.

There are mixed opinions regarding break in. Most favor taking it somewhat easy on full throttle acceleration for the first 500-1000 miles. Others say 'what the heck' I want to run fast after it is broken in so let's give it practice during the break in period. Just don't try that unless the engine and oil have reached normal operating temperature.

Not sure what the situation is with S-1 on a 2005. I would think that the Mopar dual cat-back 2 1/2" would fit and be worthwhile if you are thinking about sticking it out for Stage II.

Hey:

FWIW, I compared pictures of someone elses BOV install to mine, they look identical.

Perhaps being in a convertible with the top/windows down all the time, the increase in road noise mask the sound a little bit.

Anyone with a GT convertible and the BOV conversion kit: can you clearly hear your BOV?

Now got 500 miles on my GT, time to start exercising that engine and have some fun...starting with a install of Adam's VAK kit.

Then on goes a dual cat-back system, gonna make some more calls to DCX and have them verify it will fit my 2005 convertible.

I have the Mopar BOV kit and it is really loud at practically any rpm. They possibly could have put the piece in the wrong way. It looks the same on the outside no matter which way you flip it but the inside would just not be matched up properly. I really hope they aren't that dumb though, my friend and I put mine in without a problem. But seriously, it is really loud.

As far as you boot. When I am putting the roof down I don't put it down all the way, I tuck the boot under the back area and then put it down the rest of the way, it then pulls it underneath the top and gets in there nice and snug. When I tuck the back in, the front of it is right up in the air that's how far up the roof still is. When the roof goes down the rest of the way I just pull the sides into place.
