Mopar's BOV on GT's without Stage 1 will be louder than GT's with Stage 1. The Stage 1's are calibrated to run with Mopar BOV's, but you can still run with the stock BoV.

Hey PTGT folks, thanks for the replies

PTGTChicK: thanks for the idea re: installing the boot before the top is all the way down, gonna try that out

Back to the BOV which I'm now then ever more convinced it ain't working right. I've taken a couple of rides with my son in the passanger seat and he doesn't hear the BOV Kit venting either.

I've already scheduled my first service (free oil change at about 700 miles) for this Friday and will have them check the BOV conversion kit install.

The mechanic who put it on has installed them in the SRT-4 and drives a SRT himself (though I don't know if he installed the kit on his car)

FWIW, the top two holes (1 each on left/right side) look clear of obstructions and I can see through those holes. The holes below them aren't as easy to see. they should also have no obstructions right?

I'll have to read Mopar's site but I would think the BOV kit has a warranty if defective and I sure as hell ain't gonna pay for a fix if it was installed wrong!

That being said, if installed wrong or defective, could it have promoted any damage to the turbo or stock BOV.

Finally, is it a good test to sit in neutral, handbrake on, and rev the engine to say around 3000-3500 RPM and hold it, then left off the gas and be able to hear a 'working' BOV (kit) vent?

Thanks in advance

-MACE-

This is the first add on I got for my PT when I got it back in December-03. It is basically a racing type rear view mirror. You can see out the side windows and all. Great investment for around 20 bucks total.

doh!!!!! the link helps huh [|)] http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5QSJFdE...&avf=Y&search=

I bought a large rear view mirror also, but perhaps not the right one... I felt it blocked a lot of my view through the front windshield since it was so big, and when I looked in the rear view mirror saw the same view as the regular rear view mirror, plus my face and the passenger's face, so it didn't seem to buy me much more of a view, and I found looking at myself all the time a bit ditracting... "Are you lookin at me? ARE you looking at me?! Then who the !@#$% are you looking at?!" (apologies to Martin Scorcese)

lol...good ol Travis.....I am 6'3 and the mirror does not block my windshield vision at all. And like I said I can know see out both rear passenger windows and also the smaller rea windows. But it was kind of weird with seeing myself but after some tweaking i have it set so that I am out of that picture. A added plus to this mirror is that I never have to flip the mirror when their is a car behind me the anti-glare really does a good job.

Can I take this thing to a regular carwash? Is there some special treatment that the roof needs? I'm kinda new to the ragtop and I wanna make sure I don't do anything stupid! Any other tips on keepin' my new cruiser lookin' nice would be appreciated!

I asked the dealer about this and he said it should be no problem. I have had my new silver base model through the touchless auto car wash at the Mobil station(I think they are pretty much the same)3 times. The first time it revealed that the drivers side windows were not aligning correctly when closed - I got a little wet - took it back to the dealer and they fixed and it has been water tight. My concern was the dryer as it is advertised as being 65mph blower. It was fine - I used to have a Chevy Tracker convertible and the blower in the same wash seemed like it was going to rip it right off. The top is quite wet but I have done all my washes in the morning so the top could dry out in the sun all morning.

I agree with Scotch Guard idea and its on my list.

I should clairify. My base model does have seats that fold forward, they just don't completely "tumble" flat like other models. So there is no flat surface for the dog to lie on. In terms of removing the seats, remember that gas prices are a real female dog these days and we should all carpool!!
MJSUSMAN ..... I suggest you remove one of the rear seats if you don't wanna mess it up. Don't they lift out like the coupe? Tumble forward for flat surface, tumble forward again to lift out seat?
I could suggest something mean like, Kill your dog, or Sell your dog, but I wouldn't say anything mean like that[:0] Maybe-shave your dog bald[:I] I know, trade your car in for a coupe!!!!
Anyway..... here's a link where I purchased my covers. not cheap, but very well made. They do take time putting them on and off though.

Welcome to the Forums.
Haven't seen any other complaints... You have the seat slid all the way forward? Have seen aftermarket pedals - for "dress-up" - they may be thicker, dunno.

Here's one place: (look under gifts, 4th page or so - top of page has shift knobs)

Thanks!

We do have the seat as far forward as is practical. If it's all the way up she is hugging the steering wheel!

I guess I'll have to invent and build what we need.
