Do not even think about trying it yourself!
#1 a convertible is simply not a sedan with the top removed.
#2 The convert. requires a different under body design.
It requires additional support rails built in to the underbody.
Should you remove the metal top from a car you are also removing its intended and required dementional stability.
It would be fine if all you want to do is look at it.
Try driving it and you will very soon find yourself in deep trouble.
Even before you find your car "out of square"

As they say their is a lot more to it then meets the eye.

Take care

This is a production model, notice the door spears.

Sorry, but it probably won't get any better.

Take no pleasure in saying this However in my humble opinion the convert. will not be a big seller.
It is lacking smooth lines.
The "roll bar" takes the true convert. look away from it.
The top in the down postion looks too bulky sitting hi like an old 60,s V W bug.In my opion it nees a complete redesign from the front door line back.

I agree, rather have a Turbo.

The roll bar thingy ruins it for me. I like the 4 door conversions that the dealerships have done better.

The roll bar adds body stability, kind of like how the strut bar brace ties the front end together. I do like it better without the rollbar though.

Rollbar's required to pass federal roll over tests.

I wonder the the body colored mirrors and rollbar were for show or if it's going to be a factory option?
