JGN,
where did you place the convex mirrors on your side mirrors... at the far edge?

hhomer...

FYI... todays cars do not require you to press the gas for it to start... that's all controlled by the computers now days. [|)]

Yes you would need a hard top in Yucaipa, the sun is intense in the summer. Not many convertable types around yet.

I had a bit of time at work and looked into this a bit and answer my own question.

I talked to a guy at Lordz of Kustomz in L.A. They do mostly hot rods. To do a chop top He said you'd be looking at about $5000 plus the cost of glass and the cost of a top to use if starting with a convertable. The glass is more complex than what they usually do and the outsource it so he wasn't sure on the cost. Time would be about two months.

To do a traditional Carson Top there is a guy up in Van Nuys that does them. You'd be looking at about $5500. $2500 for the metal frame work. $1000 to uphoslter the top and about $2000 to chop the windshield and glass. Taking about two weeks.

That's all a bit pricie,IMHO. I like the PT convertable and with them being so rare you may want to do some of the traditional custom stuff like grill changes, side spears and engine mods to set it apart. It wouldn't take much and you could still put the top down in the evening and cruise up to Oak Glenn in the evening. [?]
What model/color/options did you get?

John

First off, welcome to the forum! Secondly, don't go making any disparaging remarks about turbos! Chrysler turbos are know for their longevity, which is more than I can say for their trannies! Plus I love the hair dryer under my hood - especially since installing Stage 1!!!

repetitive pressing of the gas on a cold start up will cause excessive wear to the engine cylinder walls as there is little to no lubrication in the engine. It isnt an advisble activity to do unless you need to in a much colder climate, which isnt as common as it used to be due to advances in fuel injector pulse width controled by the ecu , also staded by foghornleghorn

I think all GT's go through that cycle of not starting the first time or having an extended crank. Everybody that has a GT will probably confirm this. I noticed it especially happens on a cold start when the temp changes noticably. It also happens because of the returnless fuel system. It is really nothing to worry about. And it will be useless going to a dealer because they will say they cannot confirm it. Most times if you just leave the key on for a sec, like tun the key "on", count 1, 2, then start it. If you leave the key on too long, the fuel pump will time out and will have to build pressure again when you try to start it.
