Oooooo! Hoo, hoo! Great looking ride, nehope! Since my last post, I made the deal and I'm headed out to pick up my Cool Vanilla ragtop after noon tomorrow, 9-16-05! Ya just gotta love the color combinations!

Wow! You're gonna love it. You got the taupe top as well - mine is black. I couldn't find one with the taupe top but the black is pretty nice and I don't have to worry about getting it dirty!

Anyway, post pics as soon as you can and have a "cruisin" weekend [8)]

LOL! I wanted the taupe top as bad as I wanted the beige interior but I was beginning to think there were none available. When I read the description on the window sticker for this unit, I called, put a minimum hold deposit on it and I'm headed that way this morning. Hopefully the lighter top wont be too hard to keep clean. And one other thing I'm gonna have them do before I give them the check: They're gonna hose down the top with water to check for any leaks! I learned that much on this forum and for whoever posted that caution, thank you very much!

I would think taupe would be closer to bird poop than black...

Coming back from the dealer, we ran into a 20 minute rain storm, and I mean storm! The PT was rocked side to side by winds and the rain gave the top a leak test that a garden hose never could have matched. The top passed that test just fine! By the time we reached our exit, the sun was out and the pigeons were, too. As we waited to merge into traffic at the end of the ramp, just beneath an overpass, a dollop of pigeon doo splattered on the hood. Another thump of apparently the same substance was heard hitting the top. Arrrgggghhh! When I arrived home several minutes later, I immediately got the hose and washed off the bird doo from the hood. I couldn't find any evidence of doo on the top. Either that was not pigeon poop I heard hitting the top, or, as you suggested, the color of the top hides the poop real well or the stuff just rolled off the newly applied Scotch-Guard. At any rate, my new PT passed the pigeon poop test, too! LOL!

Is this the colors your looking for? There's a bunch of "accessories on this one but the Cool Vanilla and Beige Leather with Taupe Top are stock.

10-4, Crewzin! We purchased our '05 Vert yesterday and are very pleased with the color combo. We knew what we wanted but everything we found here in the Gulf South area had a black top with the beige interior. Finally found this one in Vicksburg, MS

Thanks for posting the pic. That looks just like our Vanilla "Puddin'" with the exception of accessories shown. Man, I love that dash overlay!!!!However, I think for the time being, all I want to add are the individual horizontal chrome strips on the grille like the Dream Cruisers have. Do you know of a good source to order that accessory from?

Sas,

The front page of this PT Cruiser Links forum has loads of vendors to purchase anything you can desire for you PT. Make sure when your looking thru the assessories that you find items that are made for the Turbo models as the front end is a little different because of the intercooler. Ebay is also a good source of PT related items but the old addage is you get what you pay for so buyer beware when your bidding on something. Good Luck.

Another pic of my friends car. real lake pipes, reverse opening hood, fully chromed engine, home made caddy taillights and loads more goodies.

"....real lake pipes....."

Holy cow! Where have I been? I haven't seen lake pipes on a car since the mid-sixties! I guess what was old is new again. Ahhh, the good 'ol USA!

By the way, thanks for the heads up on the accessories page, and especially the tip about the turbo grille part!
