2008, NA, Auto from Merritt Island FL to Myrtle Beach, SC and return 853.1 miles, 32.029 Gallons = 26.63 and all but 40 miles were highway miles at 65 or less MPH. My avg. for 81 fill ups have been 22.9 MPG.

I've read on this site that the new recommended gap is .40. I replaced the wires and put in Iridium's gaped at .45, but will re-gap this afternoon to .40 to see if it helps. I can't see that .005 will make that much difference; but you never know. I've been tracking mpg's since I got it in January this year and the average is just over 21, with mostly in-town driving (17) and some high-way (24). A couple times it worked out to be 31, not sure why; maybe didn't fill it up all the way?

With that mileage results, that is the norm. The PT weighs close or over 3000 pounds and has the aerodynamics of a brick, barn door etc. On the other hand it is a very safe car.

I put in new NAPA max performance plug wires and iridium plugs, and noticed a difference in performance but not in mpg. However, a week ago I moved to premium gas and noticed an extra 3.6 in mpg.
I have a turbo lite with auto tranny. Today I refilled with mid-grade and will check it over the weekend. And what is all this talk about lousy factory brakes? I have 35K miles, just had my brakes checked and still have more than 50% remaining. However, my battery was replaced under warranty today. The wires, plugs, radio and battery have been the only weak points I've experienced thus far.

I have to agree with QSD, just check the front wheels on almost any vehicle on the road, and you will see that they are BLACKER than the rear wheels.
That means that the fronts are doing most (80%) of the braking therefore the dust on the wheels. Cheap pads are being used no matter what model car.
