I am looking at a 05 GT vert with a turbo. Anyone with one have any comments on them? Would you buy another one? Any complaints? Thanks in advance.

Buy it, put a stage 1 in it with cold air intake, dual exhaust, strut brace, lowering springs in the front, have a full toneau made for it, and have a ball like I am.

As the owner of am 05 GT vert just under a year I would have to say seriously buying it. I would just say take it to a trusted mechanic for an eval. I've had a couple of issues since buying it used but all covered under warranty. I thought "just a year and a half old, what can be wrong?"
But overall it's a bit of an addictive car. It's got good power, a unique look, decent handling, while being the most practical sporty vert you can get. There are some inexpensive to expensive tweaks that can be done to extract more power and improve the handling. I did the air box mod this past wknd for about $50 (K&N filter and recharge kit) and 30 minutes. This simple mod really opens up the car's ability to breathe...and there are many other possibilities. I can't decide which to do next. Other than what the above post mentioned other things to check or do- get rid of the stock Good-for-a-year tires ( I put 215/50/17 Kumho Ecsta ASX's), check the roof header for cracks ( not a big deal just put on the list to get fixed before the warranty runs out). BTW- if you are the second owner go to the local dealer and pay $150 to have the warranty transferred. |

To clarify you have to open the roof to look for the cracks. Check the plastic around the last screw on each end of the header.

One of the BEST things about having a 05 GT Convertible is that you get the 17x7" wheels instead of the 17x6" wheels that have come on and still come on ALL the GTs.
2005 GT CONVERTIBLE is the only time Chrysler gave us 17x7" wheels.

Thanks for all the info. Sadly we could not get together on the price. It was a nice car.
