Welcome, Larry.
Well, a little late to ask now, isn't it? Is the intake manifold plastic or aluminum? If it's plastic, you have 10 extra, free horsepower. During the '05 model year they switched intakes on turbos from cast aluminum to plastic, and that gave 10 more horses. Other than restyling, that's the only difference. First thing I'd do is have oil changed (use Mobil 1). The warranty says oil should be changed every 6 months, regardless of mileage, and I bet dealer never did.

I bought an '05 GT vert last August and have loved it. I paid $18K for it used so price-wise you did just fine. I prefer the pre '06 / '07 front end so I think you did better on the styling.
Just be careful. Hang around here too long (or the other popular cruiser forum) and you'll likely be bitten by the mod bug. Lots of options to have even more fun. Hopefully putting on Tokico HP blues (shocks / struts) and Mopar lowering springs this weekend. Stage 1 PCM soon to follow.Enjoy it. The PT is definitely in a class by itself. |

I think you made a good choice.
I just picked up a 2005 turbo GT convertible with 5000 miles. It still has 33 months to go on the factory warranty and came with the extended 8/80 warranty. The date of manufacture is 10/05 and has the plastic manifold. I was also looking at a getting a brand new 2005 leftover, but this was a better deal. Does anyone know why there are still a few 2005 leftover GT turbo convertibles around? Its such a nice ridr. |

I got my 2005 PT Turbo GT convertible for 14k. It is like new since it only had 5000 miils. The dealer had it on his lot for about 1 momth and was getting ready to wholesale it out. If you look on Used Cars, New Cars, Buy a Car, Sell Your Car - AutoTrader.com and do a keyword or limited search for PT cruisers you will see that there are more than a few leftover 2005 Turbo GT convertibles w/5 speed around. They seem to mostly listed for about 20k. Does anyomne know why there are still leftovers of this model still available.
