Default does having a rear spoiler keep the back window clean?

I love my 05 PT, and have only two minor annoyances, one is trunk access, pity they did not consider a drop down tailgate instead of a lift up lid, seeing as it was an all new design anyway. The other thing is I notice the rear window gets pretty dirty in any sort of damp or dusty weather whatsoever. I wondered if anybody with a rear spoiler had noticed an improvement in that area after adding the spoiler, or if it was just a cosmetic addition.

Nomad;

The spoilers are basically just a cosmetic option, they won't keep the rear window clean whatsoever. I have basically the same spoiler on my van and it is just cosmetic. Now the one on my car, definitely doesn't keep the rear window clean....lol

My '02 had no spoiler, the '05 has the factory spoiler - no difference.

If the rear window gets to dirty do what I do and put the top down. Seems to clear it right up.

I have a spoiler on my 02 and it is just purely cosmetic. what I found to help reduce the dirt on the rear hatch and glass was a set of splash guards on the rear. I still get dirt on the rear but it's substantially less.

I did find this product online (I do not have it) Its a deflector. Here's the Link

2001-2006 PT Cruiser Rear Air Deflector

I hope this helps.
