Default Flap Catching As Top Goes Up

I have an '05 Conv. and when I close the top the cloth flap inside the car above the doors gets caught in the framework. Once the top is all the way down it can't be freed, you have to raise the roof a couple inches to free them. I have resorted to stopping the roof before it closes all the way to free the flaps. Is this problem unique to my car? If not:

A) Is this going to hurt the roof motor?
B) Has anyone come up with a solution to keep the flaps from getting stuck in the first place?

Well that's definitely not normal and shouldn't happen, so I would get your dealer to check it out ASAP.
