I know... old thread...

I haven't yet with the vert... However! I'm a cold freak! I drove my 77 Vw camper bus 365 in Anchorage Alaska... -25 was my coldest I got it out in... Man she was stiff and didn't want to move! LOL

Next week I might do a New years run in the cold... Hope it's ZERO!

lol... ill comment

62 and above is vert weather for me, when not dressed appropriately.

but! the worst ive ever done was when it was snowing. we all bundled up.. dropped the top and went cruising for Christmas lights. it was a ton of fun... hot chocolate and all.

32 on the mirror... top down... Loved it! 70mph down the highway!
Had a guy yell and ask if I was crazy! I told him I was from Alaska, and he said "oh that explains it"...

Wink Re: Coldest Top Down Drive

lol... that reminds me of the first time i put to top down in my area. see, i bought ruby in Jan... so no top down right away. i didnt even try the button til march. lol. so its just starting to warm up... and its like 57 out... not bad, considering how cold its been. so i drop the top, for the first time. and im lovin it like a big mac!!! lol. then, outta no where, this old man starts yelling at me while we were sitting at a light. one of those classic "you young wipper snapper... ull shoot an eye out... oh wait, i mean catch pneumonia" while shakking his boney finger at me. ha ha ha... sry dude... the blood still pumps through these veins!!!! very funny. even my dad laughed at 63 yrs old and called the dude an old fart. te he... i heart going topless.

Are you talking about my PT or my female passengers?

-15f... only about 5 miles... but hey... Those 6 years in Alaska must have helped!

It's warm today... about 30F and thinking of trying my whole 55 mile drive home from work... See how I feel when I get into the car in a couple hours!

I would have to say that barely below 50 is as cold as I have tried topless cruising...and that was back when I had my Sebring, which I bought in January and just couldnt help myself Then I read somewhere that if your car stays outside (mine does) that trying to operate the top below 40 is begging hydraulic troubles and a possible burst seal. I generally like it above 55 these days although I have been happy to notice over the course of this winter that I enjoy driving the car "top up" almost as much. My wife on the other hand loves how fast the Cruiser warms up and makes heat inside as opposed to my Grand Prix which runs cooler all the time...hence the PT is her cold weather ride of choice

Talking Re: Coldest Top Down Drive

Gotcha all beat. Yesterday took the PT from the garage to a car hauler to take it to a stero install place. The 60 feet i had to travel took about 15 minutes to get the ramps and car into the trailer. Top had to be down because of the install....TEMP>>> -14 Celcius!!

DaShado!!
