Default Roll Bar Removal

I was idly wondering about roll bar removal. A pure roadster look would be smokin.

I know it provides aerodynamic advantage to the rear seat passengers by keeping them out of the wind, but I was wondering if it was structural, or a required safety feature as well.

It is structural. Someone else thought of the same thing. I did a Photoshop of his car without the bar and yes, it did look good but I'm pretty sure you'd have to do some other structural reinforcements if you took the bar off.

Got a side or 3/4 view of your cruiser? I'm leaving for Virginia Monday so post it fast.

Thanks, I kind of thought it would act as a stiffening member.

I don't have a good shot, just this one off my camera phone.

I was told that technically "It is NOT a roll bar ,as it doesn't have the strength for that".

That looks sweet. I want a Convertible now, just to do that to it....That actually looks better than with the "Roll Bar".

Nice editing Crewzin!

How about an edit with my car as a convertible???

That's too cool!

I can see that picture costing me money eventually.

Thanks, Crewzin!

Thumbs down Re: Roll Bar Removal

Not sure why you'd want to do that just for the better looks??
The vert already has a delayed windshield shake over bumpy roads - not improved much with a strut bar. I can't even imageine how wobbly the ride would be without the roll bar.

But, if you have the cash and it's just for show....go for it!
