I bought my 07 convertible Touring fully loaded with 11,000 miles for $15,175 becasue they are hard to sell in NM. I am actually one of a handful of people in NM with the convertible. I got the Vanilla with Black top and Tan interior.

we went in early '06 to buy a pt when they still had left over '05s, after test driving both we liked the 05 better because we thought it was more comfortable and my knees were not hitting the new center dash piece, however i do really like some of the new colors

[ The wheels are totally NOT as nice as what comes on the 01s--05 Touring and above models.
As I recall the OEM "Chrome" wheels were actually mylar plastic applied to plain aluminum wheels .... For $600 a set! I'll take my OEM steelies and keep the change. |

Mine came with the 9 spoke alloy wheels which for me work better because I do highway driving and the chrome tend to show scratches. Overall I am happy with the cruiser except for the rougher shifting transmission (hopefully that is normal).

07Cruiser....
What type of tranny...manual?? I just lost the clutch assembly on soonercruiser at 16,000! Apparently they had some problems and redesigned the clutch assembly (New one was different). So, if you are getting stiff into 1st and 2nd, you may be on your way to a replacement (ot under warranty). ![]()

It's an automatic with 12,500 miles on it. I don't think it's a problem, just the way it downshifts when I slow down to around 10mph or less. It does not do it all the time, just sometimes when the AC is on and pulling power from the engine. I live in a state (NM) which does not have mechanics that know much about cars (even dealers) so I do most my research on line and then tell them what to check. Overall the car is sporty and gets a lot of attention from everyone.

My 2008 is 55% Mexican and 37% American. Result is the cost for an '03 is more than the cost of an '08. (I suspect the same is true for an '05 and an '07.) |

I ordered my 06 in Nov. of 2005. There were several left over 05's at the time I placed my order that I could of saved some money on. Personally I liked the front end of the o6 better, I like the dash and interior of the 06 much better and was told by the dealer that the 06's had a lot more insulation and were much quieter
Here is a picture of my 06 Cool Vanilla, Limited Edition I ordered with the chrome package. I have put no after market additions on it and I think it is pretty sharp. I have seen several pictures of older PT Cruiser's on here and I think a lot of them are sharp also. They say Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ![]() I think I got the picture this time. ![]() [IMG] Last edited by snowbirdIN : Today at 11:32 am. Reason: Didn't get picture up |
