Default Has anyone done a chameleon paint job on their baby?

I am so tempted to do one of those custom paint jobs that change colors as you change angles. Has anyone done one? I would love to have that paint that goes from blue~purple~fushia etc? Am I losing my mind?

Yes you are, but you have a PT and that's normal.

I briefly considered it a few years ago when I had my flames on my car. I wanted them painted on with the shade shifting paint but at that time the paint was $400 a quart. Decided to make my flames out of shade shifting vinyl instead. Did see this PT at Myrtle Beach last year.

Mine are shade-shifting but becuase they are small, you only see the changing of the colors in the sunlight as you walk around the car and yes, it is expensive.

I don't know if some guy I know is pulling my leg or what, but he told me he did his SS Monte Carlo in cameleon for 2k and that that type of paint job has gone down. Was he fibbing to me?

I think there are some cheaper chameleon paints out there like Alsa, but PPG chameleon paint is still really expensive. I recently had to replace the front bumper cover on my '02, and the paint alone to cover that one piece of fiberglass was almost $650. I should get a picture of it with the new bumper, but I attached one of it with the old bumper.
That should give you an idea how pricey this stuff really is.

Not the Geicko, but a distant cousin.

Hey SnoGirl: that cameleon paint is pretty, but it this your daily-driver we're talking about? If yes, and keeping in mind the expense of that paint, where do you tend to drive? I'm thinking about the dings we all get in parking lots or from roadway trash and rocks; also, do you park in a lot or a driveway or garage?
