Hi! I'm the new owner of an '05 GT convertible and so far I love it! It has 40k miles and had one owner.
My only complaint is the rear drivers side window. When the windows are up, it makes noise -- like it's rubbing against something. Sort of a squeaking sound. I thought perhaps the rubber seal between the two windows needed lubricating or replacing, so I rolled just the rear window up so I could apply some lubricant. The window made noise by itself just be moving it back and forth by hand, so it's just the rear window and not the seal between the two. Any ideas for correcting this? Thanks! |

Thanks, but the problem isn't wind noise.

I know what you're talking about...one of my work vans does it.
I'll ask around and see what I can find out for the benefit of your PT and my work van. Welcome to the forums!

The rear 1/4 windows have a slight rattle. If you push out on them the nnoise stops. You can use a good quality silicone lube on the rubbers, solves about 10% of the problem the rest the window has to be "tipped out" at the top. The window has to be adjusted out wards. A good tech can do this in about 1/2 hour per window. We do it all the time.

Howdy! I am the proud new owner of a 2005 base 'vert, and I've noticed the same rattle/squeek. I think in my case it is from the rear window being tipped too far forward. There is a black metal edge just to the rear of the rubber seal on the leading edge of the rear window. On the driver side the front window overlaps onto the metal, where on the passenger side the front window stays on the rubber seal (in front of the metal strip). Looks like the rear window needs to be rotated slightly backward.
