Default driving a PT convertible in summer in New Mexico

Heya guys & gals,

This summer we were thinking of renting a PT Cruiser convertible for a 16-day trip through Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico & Arizona.

Do you reckon that's comfortable/feasable?

If we can't let the top down due to excessive summer heat, possible thunderstorms, etc, then I might as well go for a cheaper alternative.

Also the trunk would have to be able to store 2 normal sized travel bags.

What do you reckon?

Cool Re: driving a PT convertible in summer in New Mexico

I own both body types - and all that I can rememeber about that area of the country in "SUMMER", is heat! Except for a few mountainous areas.
1. You will give up a lot of trunk space - unless you can give up the back seats.
2. The a/c would be much more comfy in the hardtop.

I live in Las Vegas, if like me you don't mind the heat, sure. I drive my convertible all summer with the top down (except in the mornings, it can get down into the 70's, which, before the sun comes up, is a bit nippy...). The trunk is the limiting factor, oh, and wear a hat and sunglasses.

Yes!
And, don't use an umbrella, unless you want to stop quickly, or be ejected from your seat!
