Greetings:
Didn't see a place for intro's so I thought I'd post one here. Just recently picked up an 05 Vert so I thought I'd check out the board. I've been a long time car builder mostly old HotRods n Kustoms, but just thought I'd try a PT. Been on the HAMB for a few years, so I hope I've learned the proper B-Board ettiquette. I have an Idea that may seem odd, but has anyone built a Pickup out of a vert? I specifically bought a vert for this due to the door length. I've done a photo-shop of it and think it looks pretty good. But before I got started, I figured I'd talk to a few folks and see if it's been done before, and the lessons learned from doing it. LemmeNo what you guys think, Thanks, Craig |

Thanks for the welcome, and glad I'm not the only one.
My plans are to make the top a 1 piece lift off. Should look pretty similar to the concept, or third one, with the exception of the nose treatment. Craig |

Definitely be looking forward to seeing your progress!
![]() The old hot rods were the inspiration for my buying a PT. I've always loved the look of the old 32-33 and 37 Ford roadsters. My Mom bought her PT back in 2002 and while I thought it was kinda cool, it wasnt until the vert came along and really snagged my eye. To me the two door vert just smacks of the old roadsters in a big way...and since I'l probably never be able to afford to build a classic rod, this seemed like as close as I'll ever get to one. Plus the turbo is just a hoot to drive

Funny you should mention the 37. That's one of the cars I have, and the overall look I'm going for. I always felt the PT was real close to the 37 Slant back.

Here is a picture of my 37.
I plan on using at least the flames and wheels on the PT PU. If I can find some metal fenders, I may do the headlights as well. Hope I'm not stepping on any toes with the off topic photo.

Here is what I mean by the similarity between a 37ford and a PT.
