I ask this question of anyone who's had to replace their softop. My wife's 2007 PT Conv top and headliner were vandalized. The insurance company quoting the Mitchell book insists that the shop hours to replace it are 6.5. Local shops refuse to do the job for less than 10. Before we pay the difference I'd like to know which is the fairer estimate. Anyone?

anzerzon, welcome to the Forum. Like Soonercruiser said, Most insurance companies will work with repair shops, if you have a shop your prefer, get a estimate and discuss it with your insurance company. If fact, you should get a couple of quotes from different places to prove that it is going to be more than the 6.5 hours to repair the top and headliner. Good Luck and let us know how you made out.
