I am having difficulties with opening my trunk on my 2005 Conv. Neither the glove box OR FOB work, does anyone else have this problem?

Hmmmmmmm that is really odd as I often open the trunk accidentally from the FOB.

I can only take a guess from what I've heard around the web but there's at least one owner that had to have the trunk lock switch replaced either under warranty or had to buy it themselves. It's the switch that receives the signal from the FOB or glove box release.

Interesting that this should come up now. I'm having that final warranty hurrah before my 3/36 expires next week.

One of my complaints is that the trunk will "pop" after hitting a bump. It has only happened a couple times but best to get the complaint in before the warranty expires so if it persists they can do something about it.

One of my other complaints was that my remote does not always work. This happens more frequently (about once a month).

The dealer has told me the two are related and they are replacing the ins. cluster to repair it. ???

Anyway maybe there is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) on this problem. Check with your dealer.

I have the same problem ! Just started. My remote keyless or my glove box button do not work. Only the key will open it. Very annoying !
So I need to replace a switch??

I would take the interior trim off the trunk and take a peak.

Does the relay engage when you hit the FOB??

Will the trunk relay engage when you hit the interior lock button on the drivers door.

Finally had the problem diagnosed and fixed. Went to the dealer to replace my 3rd brake light when it was discovered that the wiring was split. Had the wiring replace (1 hour labor) and the brake light is fixed. As a bonus, the trunk button now functions again, so it might just be the wiring.

Mine just started this behavior this morning. The button in the glove compartment doesn't release the latch and nether does the FOB. However, when the trunk is open and you push the FOB, the latch release in the trunk latch cycles. If I manually move the trunk latch into the locked position (while the trunk is open) the FOB releases the latch. When the trunk lid is closed, the release doesn't work. Strange.

Might want to check if your brake light is working; if not, you might have the same wiring issue. Initially, my trunk release would work sporaticaly; but eventually, it crapped out all together.
