Yes, maybe true that they are worn out. Yes, they are not covered under any extended warranty but might have been in the first 3/36. $700 is way too much to pay to have them replaced. Look/ask around, you have time, the engine won't fall out. See if you can find a mechanic that's honest and will give you a fair price.

Just had mine done on the '05 GT with 62000; set me back around $550 for both mounts.

I got both torque struts or mounts for $70 each Canadian. Took 20 minutes for each one. the center one is the Pain in the butt.
