Default Turbo motors

There's been a few discussions here about whether the Turbo has the same engine as the NA with few upgrades. The article in the Tech Performance sections pretty much sums it up : • "The turbo motors have special rods, pistons, rings and exhaust valves, along with a unique, stainless steel; MLS head gasket and a special water pump. They also have special rod bearings that have squirt holes and special thrust bearings “with contoured faces to provide higher load-carrying capacity.”.

Nice to know my my T-lite just might go a long way

Just be sure to put synthetic oil in that turbo engine - it's worthe the extra $.
I already have 91,000+ on my turbo lite - no issues.

The 'special water pump' is essentially just the same pump with a plastic impeller instead of metal, like the older-style ones that were prone to rust.

Also, the turbo models got an 'upgraded' oil pump. Flows 15cm^3 per rev, as opposed to the older 13cm^3 per rev, but is essentially overkill as even the older-style pump over-oiled the head at high RPMs.

EDIT: But this all of that info is not news to most people on the boards..
