The 4 door convertible was the first cruiser I saw up close and personal. The conversion was out before Chrysler had a convertible for sale. I saw it on a 2001 model. The dealer wanter $30,000 for it.

Interesting and beautiful. I gotta wonder about the structural integrity though, especially concerning the rear door.

The reason why Chrysler turned the Cruiser into a 2-door for the convertible is that if they kept it a 4-door, there's nothing really strong for the rear doors to hang from, and the car would bow out at the now weakened B-pillar where the rear doors hang.

This is the single biggest problem with creating a 4-door convertible. It has lead to many 4-door cars being converted to 2-doors, or some more innovative ideas like the suicide rear doors on old Lincoln Connie convertibles.

I'm betting they may have some door problems. If not now, then in the future...
