Default HELP!

My name name is Vera, I am new to the forum. Right now, I really need help ASAP and hoping it is in my favor. I have a 2005 convertible, 2.4 Turbo. I was having problems with my battery so I received a "jump" from my neighbor. I had the top down along with the windows. After the "jump" the car started, and I was able to put the top back up along with the windows. My problem now is that the windows will not come down nor can I let the top down. Everything inside my car works. Oh yeah, the windows are off track and outside of the top. I've heard about a relay switch, then I was told by the dealer that the car has no relay.

How old is the battery? If it is like 5 years old, go buy a new battery, these cars do not like batteries with low voltage and if the baterry is old, your way ahead greif wise to buy a new one.

That said, assumimg your battery is good, disconnect it and wait about 10 minutes, good time to clean the battery posts. then reconnect it. Then try them.

The top is not electric, it's hydraulic, the only thing electrical is powering the hydraulic motor. The windows should NOT be left outside of the top like that for long. You'll end up having a permanent alignment problem with them and next thing you'll have is leaky windows. Need to do as suggested and disconnect your battery for 5 minutes, while it's disconnected push the brake pedal a few times to bleed off any residual charge hanging on the system. Hopefully this will cure your issues. With both windows and top not working, it doesn't sound like an easy fuse problem.

Did you do the 'key dance' to see if it's throwing any codes???

Problem is when the batteries get low and voltage drops the PCM's and BCM's get all screwed up, she mentioned having the car jump started.

As I said if the battery is old get a new one and save yourslef a lot of grief.

I just bought an 06 wiht 4000 miles, the battery will be replaced next week before I register it, I dont have time to play screw around on an old battery. Not worth the frustration when a new one is 65$.

Here is your answer. The "key dance" is a method of retrieving ODB 2 codes without a code reading tool.
If there are any stored fault codes, they will be displayed in the odometer window.

How to retrieve fault codes.

Angel, if you go to the performance section, it will tell you how to do the "key dance" for the codes and another also in that section will define them for you.

Thumbs up Re: HELP!

Thanks to everyone who helped me out with my problem. I removed the post and waited 5 minutes and it worked. I am able to let my top down and most of all the windows are working.
