JL Audio Slash 1000.0
Im running 2 JL Audio 10W6v2-D4 - 10" Dual 4-Ohm Subwoofer
JL Audio Slash 300.4
JL Audio mids and Highs

Amps all mounted under front seats. Upgraded alternator. I can simply take subs out if going on trip.

After my wreck I found out that my amp had blown, and in doing so took out my sub, so had to replace both. Went fairly conservative, cost wise, but the audio quality is just tremendous, and the bass, well I'll never again go without a sub/amp combo like I've got now.

Head unit = Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X692 (single DIN unit, w/flip down/detachable face)

Subwoofer = JL Audio 10W3 (custom enclosure velcroed into the trunk)

Amp = JL Audio JX360/2 (under driver's seat - used to have the JX1000/1 but couldn't afford it now)

All speakers, except the sub, are factory and sound "fine", as in pretty good. However, soon as I get another job I'll be moving back to a 1000 watt amp (requires spousal permission - i.e. a note from the wifey), but with 6 outputs so that I can connect all my speakers plus the sub, that way I can blow the factory speakers giving me reason to replace them and go with components.

It's one hell of a thumping bass. Pushing the sound into the trunk like I am, it reverberates through all of the flooring, and people sitting in the back seat, especially girls, seem to enjoy the vibration. The one seat back it feels like a massager.

As to sound quality, that was my main goal here was not necessarily LOUD, but CLEAR. My neighbor's teenage daughter thinks I have the coolest car in town because when I come home she hears my stereo, as she says, about a block away. It's extremely clear, not just a lot of dull vibrations and shaking windows. I can't stand that sh%t that so many tards do with just adding tons of power, but you can't understand a word of any song.

Personally, I test my sound system with tracks from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, they are better than progressive jazz when it comes to the bandwidth of clear notes they produce. My goal, achieved here, is to be able to stand at the end of my driveway, about 155 feet away, with my windows up, and know what music is playing. I went to the state part Saturday with my top down, and the Rangers came by to tell me they could hear my stereo over the entire park, and would I please turn it down?!

They did complement me on the quality of the sound though....

Oh, one thing to remember that so many people forget, the bass amp is TUNEABLE.... make sure you set it up for how you want to hear your music. I caution everyone not to set the crossover frequency too high or all you get is a lot of loud humming. I want to hear a bass drum hit, and when it does, I want it to feel like I just got kicked in the chest!
