I've been shopping for a PT Conv and doing lots price comparison. I've found a 2007 PT Cruiser for a great price even though it doesn't have all the bells & whistles on it.

I'm going with the 2007 because my financing rate is much lower. 3.5% vs. 7.5%. I agree with advice you are getting on the insurance quotes. Be honest or you may end up paying in the end.

Enjoy your new cruiser! I pick mine up on Monday.

The ragtop color matches the body color.

Even the local dealer doesn't know what to call it. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks
So I finally found out what the color is called. It's Deep Lava Red. There was a post in this forum from 2004 that detailed it.

New 2005 Convertible PT Dream Cruiser

Funny. At the time the folks in here blasted it, but I think it's my favorite of the Dream Colors...

Can someone please do comparison between 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 (if any) models? The starting post is limited to only 2005. Thanks.

Where's the production number? On the door panel?

I also have a Series IV...

The "very simple" answer is that I Googled it for you and the GT (turbo) sedan is 3187 lbs and the convertible (non-turbo) is 3431. The turbo will add a few more lbs. to the converts weight.

Google is your friend.

Probably depends on the year. In 2005, the GT 4door was 3100 lbs and the GT conv was 3200. (KBB.com)

kbb rounds off and there are other variables envolved. For instance the atx is heavier than the mtx, etc., etc.
