Default Weatherstrip leak?

My girlfriend just bought an 05 PT convertible. There is wind noise and water (depending on the angle of the rain) coming from, what I believe is the door jamb between the fender and door (right about where the door window starts. I've tried pulling it out, and I've tried WD40 on what I'll call weatherstrip and it does not help. Is there a fix, or just replace the rubber (is it called weatherstrip?)
