Default Side View Mirrors

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and need to ask a question.

My wife bumped a pole at the drivethrough and broke off the driver's side mirror.

Are the convertible mirrors and wagon mirrors same or diff? Looking up on line for parts gives me conflicting info and the Chrysler guys only want to look up off of VIN and won't answer the question.

05 Convertible with power mirrors.

thanks. . .

This might help from 2005 parts manual

Looks like different part #s between the convertible and 4 doors.

You can ask the parts guy, give em your Vin he probably needs it to look it up and double check, he wont bite and you dont have to buy anything.

44 is 4 door

27 is convertible

1 and 3 are the mirror, sorry Adobe wouldnt let me copy the image here.

Looks like 3 type of mirrors, manual, power heated, Power heated and fold away,

They are different mirrors. Just from looking, the convertible mirrors are a sharp triangle. The regular pts mirrors are curved. They might would fit but would leave quite a bit of space. However, the mirror inside the housing appears to be the same. So it does seem possible (for anyone thinking about it) to add heated mirrors to a vert by simply switching the glass and wires vs the whole mirror.

I got a follow up to this question. What are the differences in mirrors between the various years?

Some of the early years had heaters in them to defrost. They must of had a not power version, and I guess the convertibles are different shape?

The mirrors themselves appear to be the same shape, however the part of the mirror that mounts onto the door is different between vert and reg pt

Maybe a better way of saying this is what is the difference between mounting them. For instance can an 02 mirror fit and an 05 car or an 08 car. Can an 08 mirror fit and earlier car. This is what I was trying to find out.

All years of the hardtop style will fit onto each other and all convertable years will fit onto each other. None of the hardtops will fit onto the converts and vice versa.

In other words all of the hardtop "MOUNTING BASES" are the same shape and all of the convertible "MOUNTING BASES" are the same, but differant from the hardtops.
