HELP air lock in radiator

Default HELP air lock in radiator

hi...car had hose leak.....i put fluid in...now i have air lock i think...i am trying to bleed thru bleeeder screw..but I cant see level in overflow...to see how much coolant i have due to fact I am using the white ZEREX HOAT dealer recommended..
what is proceduel for removing air...
warm up car and open bleeder valve a few times??? should fluid be coming out in steady stream...i am getting spurts but no steady stream..thanks...Bill

Don't worry so much about the over flow. Just bleed it till you don't get any air any more. It will pull from the over flow after it starts to cool down. Just make sure before you quit working on it that it is full. Check it again in the morning.

ok THANKs..but could you tell me if I am bleeding it correctly..do I do it while car is running and do I have to add antifreeze at same time I have vavle open??...and should I look for steady stream..this is my first time bleeding a radiator...THANKs.........Bill

Not any different for any car-
Open the valve to fill area under thermostat- Fill 'till it comes out.
Close.
Continue to fill remainder of cooling system.
You can squeeze hoses (heater are best) to get all the air out if you wish,

If there are any pockets of air in the system, they will work their way into the top of the radiator after a drive. When everything has cooled off and there is no danger of any pressure in the system, you may open the radiator cap and top off to displace the any trapped air.
