Default Replacing Convertible Top

Has anyone had to replace their convertible top and if so approximately how much should that run?

A tree fell on mine, hit the cross bar, which will also need to bereplaced. The canvas top seems fine, but the roof frame on the passenger side is crushed. Doors and windows all work fine and the top is still snug except gap in rear passenger side.

Is there an aftermarket for these?

The insurance company wasn't to total it since it is a 2005 and the ratios of value to repair don't meet the standards

There were a few convertible tops with the cloth top and frame intact on eBay for sale just do a search for them.

Thanks! But this appears to be selling the canvas top. My canvas is fine. It is the retractable frame that got damaged

Excuse Busa his Med must be wearing off. Should be able to look on eBay and buy a used top to get the frame if yours can't be straightened .

You can look on site Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market for wrecking yards near you that have one. It would probably be a good item to pick up with a truck rather than ship, but ebay might be cheaper if available. The wrecking yard would also have the cross bar if they had the top, be nice to find a color match for that item if possible.

Check CL! I just saw one around my area for $400ish... something like that. Not sure where though. There is almost always someone out there with a wrecked one in their yard just waiting to be stripped out for parts. Better to just replace the whole thing IMO.

Look for this guy on eBay; slickrock822. He is located in NC and has tons of PT Cruiser parts and has a PT Cruiser Convertible for parts. Not sure what he has but you can message him to find out. I think he may be a member here too but not sure. Good Luck
