Default 05 pt fuel tank capacity

2005 PT convertible fuel tank capacity??????
I don't have a owner's manual and I can not find out how many gallons my tank holds.
I went to the dealership and even they did not know for sure.
Does anyone know for sure on here?

From the owners manual:

15.0 gallons, 56.7 Liters

...unless they changed it on the vert.

It may say 15 gal, But I don't think we've ever gotten more than 12 gallons in ours. Kinda frustrating. You can't get more than about 240 miles out of a tank of gas...

The most miles on a tank of fuel on my 2005 PT conv 5 speed has been 340 before I refueled it in around town driving. Haven't had it on a long trip yet.

Same deal here on our Vert... I've run the tank down to the idiot light a few times and have never seemed to get more than 12-13 gallons back into it. and that's topping it off to the top of the filler.

I think the reserve hold about 1.5 to 2 gallons? We usual get around 240 or 250
to a tank then the light comes on at a quarter tank. Then the chime starts when it gets below a quarter tank and will drive you bat crap crazy till you put gas in it!can

I can't image you can get 340 miles out of tank of gas in a PT? And I can't see a smaller tank in a vert? I would think they are heavier than the hard tops and I would think the mileage would be worse?

Not saying they can't go 340 miles on a tank of fuel but I can say mine won't!

Drove it down past the idiot light till bottom, I trust it's 15... I haven't been misguided on here yet.

I think it's just the uncertainty because I haven't run it dry yet to find out where "true empty" is. My Rav4 has quite a few miles past the "E" to go dry, maybe this is the same deal here?

Mine is a ZERO option 2005 PT Cruiser Conv. with a 5 speed. I usually average 300 and up to 340 per tank and it has 102,500+ miles on it. I've never gotten less than 290 miles out of a tank of fuel. I get 26 mpg in local city driving. Not bad for a car that's supposed to only get 22 city and 29 highway. I guess its all in how hard or easy the car is driven.
