Default Seat Belt Problem

My car is an '05 Convertible GT. I took out my side panels to add sound installation. In doing that I disconnected my seat belts. I reinstalled them and they're locked up. I don't currently have seats in the car so I don't have airbags and the dash light is on. When I replace the seats and reconnect the airbags will my belts work?

I don't won't to deal with installing everything and then having to remove everything to get my belts to work.

I need help ASAP s I need to get this back on the road this weekend.

Thanks,

Mike

I apologize for the double post, just not sure where this belongs!

Lightbulb Re: Seat Belt Problem

I don't think having the seats out, makes any difference in the operation of the seatbelts;I have my (2003 )seats out,and I can still pull my belts out,and they'll retract just fine(But,I haven't removed the panel,or belt/mechanism).....I think it ended up locked up during the reinstall, you probably should take the panel back off,and check the mechanism manually; You'll probably find the problem....

Now this question is a different issue; If your seats are equipped with side airbags, then yes...Your light will stay on until the connectors for the seat airbags are plugged back in.

Got everything reconnected. Still getting the warning light. I disconnected the positive for a few hours.....same problem. I've pulled both the positive and the negative (can't see how that would help) and plan on leaving it off over night.

I'm really worried about the seat belts not releasing. I fear this is going to be an expensive repair bill.

By the way what do you have in stock as far as SRS parts? Beckley isn't far from me if you've got some parts cars....
